Moved by Hans Stenman, seconded by Gay Richardson that St John's proceed immediately with construction of new ground floor washrooms plus essential renovations to the basement, which comprise: upgrading essential infrastructure in the basement (electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation); partial excavation of the Crypt for the use of The Well; and renovation of the space leased by The Well. The maximum cost to St John's for these renovations would be $600,000.
Motion 2: Fund Raising Campaign
Moved by Bill Broughton, seconded by Martha Nixon that St John's immediately launch a five-year capital fund raising campaign, with the goal of raising $750,000, using the services of DVA Navion, a professional fund raising company, at a maximum cost of $50,000 plus GST for Navion's services.
Motion 3: Parking Lot
Moved by Glenn Calder, seconded by Monica Patten that St John's approve the revised conditions for the sale of the parking lot as set out in the Framework Agreement: Proposed Terms of Agreement for Purchase and Sale, dated January 16, 2005 and incorporating the three changes set out in the January 16 document "Additional Information". In return for the sale of the parking lot, St John's will receive $1 million cash and one level of parking.
