The congregation at St. John's is a very hospitable one! We have a regular schedule of events throughout the year that include food. (We can count a total of 24 of these regular social events that occur!) Almost every committee described in this year's Annual Report involves hospitality in its gatherings. A small group of women (Jan Calder, Lannie Mitchell, Bea Robertson) were tasked this past year with overseeing hospitality events. New initiatives this past year included:

• "Take A Break" Saturday afternoon drop-ins for students with coffee and muffins
• Three Stewardship dinners
• Participation in monthly meals for students provided by several other congregations based at All Saint's Sandy Hill

In order not to overburden a small group of volunteers, we are looking at creating a database of members of the congregation who would be willing to contribute food, help with set-up and clean-up, and/or organize special events. To this end we will be sending out a questionnaire to find out how people are willing to help. We are also creating a list of caterers whom we could call upon when necessary. We are always looking for new ideas and participants, so please feel free to contact me if you would like to be involved in this important ministry.
