MINISTRIES AT ST. JOHN'S

Our Mission

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, St. John's is called to be a parish community that worships and lives for God, constantly growing in our relationship to Jesus Christ and one another, caring about and helping our neighbours near and far; and sharing experiences of prayer, sacraments, learning, witness, outreach and fellowship.

Goal #1 - Faith and Worship

We are called to understand, celebrate and respond to God's work in us and the world through private prayer, common worship, study and music. [See our Worship page.]

Goal #2 - Ministry and Mission

We are called to proclaim the Good News to the world in ministries of service and justice, especially to those who are marginalized, abused, lonely, sick or despairing. [See our Outreach page.]

Goal #3 - Membership

We are called to be a welcoming and inviting community, where the diverse gifts of all are identified and respected and used for the common good. [See our Members page.]

Goal #4 - Governance

We are called to communicate clearly our plans and needs; to seek wide participation in their discussion, support and implementation; and to wisely manage our financial and operational affairs. [See our Parish page.]

CREDO
We Believe:

that God in Jesus Christ offers answers
to all our questions and struggles;

that the mystery of God is
in each of us,
in our community,
in and beyond our world;

that the community of St. John's has a responsibility
to support individuals on their spiritual journeys;

in the value of the ministry of each person
in the home and the workplace;

that without the love and support of the family structure
in all its various forms, we will suffer;

that you are a worthwhile human-being
even if you have been told otherwise;

that everyone has the right
to compassionate acceptance and guidance
and that our path leads from pain and doubt toward
the light of God.
