Pride Day
2004
at St Johns

It is by now a tradition that on the Sunday of the Ottawa Pride Parade, St. John's provides juice and homemade cookies to those in the parade as they pass the church, and to onlookers on Elgin Street. This form of outreach is great fun! It involves a couple of hours of feverish activity by those who volunteer. Around 700 cups of pink lemonade and about 70 dozen cookies were distributed this year on July 11th. The cups bore colourful stickers proclaiming, "God does not discriminate and neither do we! St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Elgin at Somerset".
