Speaking Into the Air

In early 2004, the community of St. John's was invited to join in the sharing of stories, to learn each other's languages, through a story-telling project entitled "Speaking Into the Air: Sharing our Stories". See Paige Dampier's invitation Speaking into the Air: Being Stewards of Our Stories in which she first presented the idea to the parish on Sunday, March the 7th 2004.

A major part of the "Speaking Into the Air: Sharing our Stories" project was our Memory Quilt. The St John's Memory Quilt bee took place Saturday, April 24th 2004. Over 30 quilt blocks were made by St John's members during that workshop. The finished memory quilt was unveiled on Pentecost Sunday as the altar frontal and the pulpit fall.
