Our Clergy and Staff
at St John's

Our Rector is the Rev Dr Dana Fisher who started her ministry with us on 15 August 2008. After bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, Dr. Fisher completed her Master of Divinity at Trinity in 1981. Dana was ordained deacon and priest in this diocese and served as Assistant Curate at St. Stephen's, Ottawa, and as Incumbent of the Parish of Combermere. In 1994, she completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at Trinity. Since that time Dana has served in a variety of ministries and appointments in the Diocese of Toronto and most recently as Chaplain at Trinity College, University of Toronto. Dana is married to her partner David.


The Rev Naomi Kabugi is a native of Kenya. She came to Canada in 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Divinity degree from St. Paul's Theological College in Limuru, Kenya, and a Masters in Theology from McGill University. She is currently enrolled in doctoral studies at Trinity College, Toronto School of Theology; her area of specialization is pastoral intervention for first generation immigrants, cultural transition and adaptation. Naomi was first appointed in the Anglican Church as a Coordinator of the Mother's Union in the Anglican church of Kenya. She was a professor in St. Paul's Theological College in Limuru, Kenya. Naomi was ordained deacon in the Anglican diocese of Ottawa in May 2008 and ordained a priest in December 2008. She joined our staff as Curate in January 2009.


Dr Gordon Johnston has been Organist and Choirmaster of St John's since 1986. A native of Calgary, he studied organ and choral conducting in Calgary and in the United States, receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in organ and church music from Brigham Young University (Utah, USA). Prior to coming to St John's, he was guest organist at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. In 2003 he was awarded a doctorate in sacred music from the Graduate Theological Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists. An active conductor and composer, his four-volume set of Psalms from the Revised Common Lectionary is published by the Anglican Book Centre, Toronto. Gordon is also Director of Music in the Anglican Studies Programme at Saint Paul University.


Wanda Dillabough joined the staff of St John's as Christian Education Coordinator in 2001. A native of Brockville, Ontario, she graduated from St Lawrence College with a diploma in Business Administration (Finance) in 1985. Subsequently she attended Carleton University (B.A. in English and Religion) and Saint Paul University (M.A. in Pastoral Studies [Counselling]). As well as working as working as Coordinator of Children and Youth Ministries for St John's Church, Wanda is an individual, couple and family therapist at the Ottawa Pastoral Counselling Centre. She also coordinates the Marriage Preparation Programme for the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. Wanda is a postulant of the Diocese of Ottawa, preparing for ordained ministry. In all her spare time, she keeps close tabs on her two perfect children, Josh and Nathan.
